Life begins at 60? I thought they say life begins at 40? Ok whether at 30, 40 or 50 the point is their is still life after 60 – lot of life and lot to live for.

Ade Adefarati became the governor of Ondo State in Nigeria at 68.

Warren Buffet made 98% of his wealth after the age of 50.

The average age of successful startup founders is 45.

Yuichiro Miura reached the top of Mount Everest at 80.

Harland Sanders started KFC at 65.

Dayo Duyile bagged a PhD from the university of Lagos at 80.

Joe Biden was sworn in as US president for the first time at 78.

Oscar Swahn won an Olympic Gold medal at 64.

In our pursuits, we often come into those moments when we feel that life is ticking fast and we are far from being where we really want to be or being who we really want to be.

Yes like all children do, we start off life with dreams. Dreams to be successful, rich, be happily married, have children, travel the world, accomplish great things, grow old gracefully – name it!

But years down the line as realities stare at us in the face, many of those dreams become a mirage.

It is not unusual for some to find it hard to shake off that unsettling feeling that life is slipping away.  Deep inside, they are not fulfilled because their unwritten biography is filled with many unaccomplished aspirations and expectations.

For some middle aged folks, they constantly worry that they have not put enough funds aside in pension and investment to fall back on in their old age.

For some they are worried that they are not giving their children the quality of life they would really love to offer.

A matured single lady in her thirties, forties or fifties who desires to be married may feel pressured that her biological clock is fast ticking and the thought of being without a lifetime partner feels them with dread.

There are others who have tried but encountered setbacks, failures and disappointments in marriage, business or a career and begin to wonder if it’s not too late to start again.

No it’s not too late. There is so much life that offers after 30. After 40. After 50. After 60. Life can begin at 60 if you are willing to give it a go. Like George Eliot the English novelist said, “It is never too late to be what you might have been.”

Truly what lies behind you and what lies around you cannot be compared to what lies ahead of you. Give it a go. Go for gold.
