Skip to content Earlier this week, the Nigerian minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani tweeted asking for feedback on the idea of encouraging Nigerian doctors in the diaspora to provide healthcare services in the country through Telemedicine.
He subsequently deleted the tweet probably because of the backlash it received.
In my interview on ARISE News today 1st December, I shared my view on why the minister’s tweet received that backlash.
I also advanced the idea of how nurses and community health workers that make up more than 80% of the 450,000 health professionals in Nigeria can be equipped with digital technology to bring healthcare to the citizenry particularly those living in rural areas.
